Erpe-Mere (Aalst), 16 november 2009 - Gerenommeerd onderwaterfilmer Danny Van Belle, drievoudig winnaar van de “Palme d’Or” op het wereldfestival voor onderwaterbeelden te Antibes, neemt ons mee op zoek naar de meest zeldzame vissen op aarde. Met deze opvolger van zijn vorige DVD “Secrets of the sea - Vol.1″ brengt Danny Van Belle ons opnieuw een indrukwekkende oogst van adembenemende beelden.

Met deze buitengewone verfilming van zeedieren ontdekken wij van dichtbij hoe onderwater-bewoners hun omgeving visueel waarnemen. De meeste zeebewoners hebben ogen, maar wat kunnen zij zien? Kunnen zij kleuren waarnemen? De film omschrijft tot in de kleinste details niet alleen de ontwikkeling van de ogen, maar ook de manier waarop vissen en andere zeedieren licht- en kleurverandering ervaren en biedt antwoord op deze intrigerende vragen.

De onderwaterwereld heeft wellicht nog niet al zijn geheimen onthuld. In deze film verkennen we de bizarre, geheimzinnige en fascinerende onderwaterwereld van Noord-Sulawesi in Indonesië. Deze documentaire toont de enorme diversiteit aan onderwaterleven van de Lembeh Straat en bevat ook exclusieve beelden van een nooit eerder waargenomen vis. De film behaalde de hoogste prijzen op bijna alle onderwaterfilmfestivals in de wereld en werd met goud bekroond op het wereldfestival voor onderwaterbeelden te Antibes in 2008.
Componist en award-winaar Eric Bettens zorgde tevens voor de originele muzikale begeleiding.
De DVD met commentaar in 4 talen (NL-FR-ENG-SP) , ook beschikbaar in Blue Ray formaat, is verkrijgbaar in de POKSHOP
